GOTS & Kid's Concept

Caring for kids and the world they play in. At Kid’s Concept, we believe that safe, thoughtful play starts with the materials we use. That´s why some of our products are GOTS-certified. It’s better for the planet, the people who make them, and the kids who use them every day.

What is GOTS – and why does it matter?

GOTS stands for Global Organic Textile Standard – the world’s leading certification for textiles made from organic fibres. It covers the entire journey of the fabric, from the cotton field to the finished product, and sets strict requirements for both environmental care and social responsibility.

To earn a GOTS certification, cotton must be grown without synthetic pesticides or genetically modified seeds. This helps protect the soil, preserve clean water, and support biodiversity. The production process also limits the use of harmful chemicals like bleach and toxic dyes, favouring more environmentally friendly methods instead.

But GOTS isn’t just about the environment. It also ensures that workers throughout the supply chain are treated fairly, which include safe working conditions, fair wages, and respect for their rights. So when you choose a GOTS-certified product, you’re supporting both the planet and people, and together we take one step towards a more sustainable and equitable world.

There are two types of GOTS labelling:

  • Organic – means at least 95% of the fibres are organic.

  • Made with organic – means at least 70% of the fibres are organic.

Some of our products can’t be fully GOTS-certified – for example, if they contain filling that weighs more than 70% of the product. But wherever possible, we still choose GOTS-certified fabric. In these cases, we label the material as “certified organic cotton.”

For us, offering GOTS-certified products is one of many ways we work towards a more sustainable future, for kids today, and tomorrow.
